The 6th Annual Minority Baseball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game and 4th Annual Minority Softball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game in North Carolina bring together some of the top HBCU baseball and softball talent in the country for a weekend celebrating Black excellence, culture, and high-level competition. The events feature MLB scout exposure, youth clinics, homerun derbies, Fastest Man and Woman Challenges, alumni bands, vendors, music, food, and a true HBCU homecoming atmosphere at the ballpark.

MSP HBCU All-Star Game
The 4th Annual Minority Softball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game brings the top 40 HBCU softball players together on one stage to showcase their talent, energy, and passion for the game.
Fans can enjoy a full HBCU-style experience featuring vendors, music, food, fun, and more — plus a special 4th Inning Alumni Band Performance that brings the homecoming energy to the ballpark.

The 6th Annual Minority Baseball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game brings together the top HBCU baseball players in the country for a national showcase built to highlight the talent, culture, and future of HBCU baseball.
This is an HBCU homecoming at the ballpark — elite baseball, vendors, food, music, family fun, and an alumni band performance that brings unmatched HBCU culture to the stadium.

Charlotte and Kannapolis Host HBCU All-Star Baseball
Black college all-star baseball and softball are returning to the Charlotte area. Minority Prospects, Carolina Metro Reds, Knothole Foundation and Atrium Health Ballpark are collaborating for HBCU All-Star Weekend, a showcase of games and fan engagement on June 4–6.
"We're taking it over to the big field," said Jeff Johnson, the showcase's lead marketer. "That field has given us more of an arena type atmosphere, more of a big-time event type atmosphere, better sound system, better visuals; the lighting is better."
Minority Prospects president Reggie Hollins said the showcase is for everyone: "HBCU is an inclusive community. We want to make sure that everyone knows that." Impact reports show more than 30% of participants from ethnicities other than African American on the baseball side.
The weekend includes a Life After Sports Symposium on June 4, the softball all-star event on June 5 at Stick Williams Dream Field in Charlotte, and the baseball all-star event on June 6 at Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis — complete with fastest man/woman competitions, home run derbies, and the HBCU Alumni Band.

The 6th Annual Minority Baseball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game is returning to Kannapolis for an elite national showcase of HBCU baseball talent. Taking place at Atrium Health Park on June 6, 2026, the event brings together the nation's top HBCU baseball players for a competitive display of skill, culture, and HBCU pride.
The showcase features fastest man competitions, home run derbies, vendor experiences, food, and an HBCU Alumni Band performance — creating a full ballpark atmosphere celebrating Black excellence in college baseball.
Robinson and Pinckney Selected for 2026 MBP HBCU All-Star Game
Morehouse College baseball standouts Robert Robinson Jr. and Elijah Pinckney have been selected to participate in the 2026 MBP HBCU All-Star Game, earning the opportunity to represent the Maroon Tigers among the nation's top HBCU baseball talent.
Both players were named to Team Wilbert Ellis, which will face Team Larry Watkins at Atrium Health Park in Kannapolis, NC — home of the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers.
Robinson batted .379 with 13 home runs, 44 RBI, and a .693 slugging percentage, earning SIAC First Team honors. Pinckney, a senior shortstop, batted .331 with a .465 OBP and became the first Morehouse player selected to the HBCU All-Star Game twice. He finished his career with a .370 batting average and had his jersey number retired — only the second baseball player in Morehouse history to receive that honor.
